Jerry Uelsmann
Jerry Uelsmann is a photographer, best known for his Surrealism. He was born in Detroit on 11th June 1934.
He first became interested in Photography when he was 14. Despite getting poor grades, Jerry had a few jobs, then went on to teaching photography at the University of Florida. All of his photos are done in a darkroom.

In this photo you can see a pair of hands holding a birds nest. these are merged in to a tree trunk. The photo is not a realistic depiction because you wouldn't see a tree trunk with a pair of hands growing out of it in real life. The photo would have been staged because Jerry didn't use photo shop, he did it all in a Darkroom. The photo is in back and white. there are contrasting textures in this photo because the tree bark would bee rough whereas the skin form the hands would be soft. Jerry would have had to of thought about whether the size of the tree trunk was the same width as both the wrists together.
This photo is of a house, wit roots of a tree coming from the bottom of it. The photo is not realistic, because this would not happen in real life. The photo is in black and white and there isn't a very high contrast. The photo was staged because Jerry would have had to have merged the photos together.
