Surrealism
Tommy Ingberg
Tommy Ingberg was born in 1980 in Sweden. He has always been a very creative person. He says he remembers drawing and being fascinated with cameras as a child.
He got a degree in Computer Science, and decided to have a Job and keep Photography as a hobby. In his late twenties he decided to further develop his photography. He started to not care about other peoples opinions about his work, and started to talk photos that represented how he really felt.

The name of this photo is 'think'
This photo was taken as part of Tommy's 'reality rearranged' gallery from 2010-2013.
I think the photo represents the persons thoughts. sometimes thoughts are drawn as bubbles coming from peoples heads. This has been shown in a similar way, but with balloons. Also, the persons head is replaced with balloons , so only the body is realistic.
The photo is black and white which makes you more curious about what colours there should be in the photograph. It is quite a low contrast photograph which makes it seem quite calm. The mans black suit stands out the most in terms of the colour because its the darkest object in the photo.
The photo would have been staged because its is a surrealist photo.
The photo is meant to look like it was taken outside, however, the background almost looks lifeless, because the ground looks hard and cracked, and it is surrounded by hills. I think the photo of the man was taken separately, and the background was taken and then edited. Tommy then would have added the image of the man to the background, using a computer programme such as Photoshop. He would have had to use Photoshop to remove the mans head and neck from the image, then add in some photos he wad already taken of some balloons.

The name of this photo is 'Inside' it was taken as part of Tommy's 'Solitaire' gallery. This is his most current gallery from 2013 onwards.
In the photo we can see a group of people in rows, all wearing suits and hats. There is one person that has turned round and is opening he suit to reveal some sort of machine inside. The photo makes me feel like it could be showing that the artist feels like everyone is the same and is being controlled in the same way. The person in the middle could represent the photographer in a way that maybe he feels different from everyone else and is trying to show it. The photo is in black and white and has quite a low contrast |
These are some more photos from Tommy Ingberg that relate to the theme that I have chosen for my surrealism photos.

I chose this to photos because they are my favourites from what I've seen on Pinterest.
I like the first one because the horses neck and been merged with the ducks body really well. It looks as if it could be a real animal.
I also the second photo because they have made it look good because of the butterflies body which matches with the core of the apple and the wings match up with the white part of the apple.

1st try at a surrealist photo.
These are the 2 photos that I will use
This is my first attempt at a surrealism photo.
First I took the photo of the bin. Then I used the studio to take the photo of the arm.
I used Photoshop to create the final image.
The hand/arm has a shadow on it so you can tell that it was taken somewhere else. Also at the bottom of the arm, there is a line in between where the arm stops and where the top of the bin is. This is because I had moved the arm down any lower, it would have overlapped the top of the bin.

2nd Photo
These are the photos I will be using for my second photo.
For This photo I took photo of holly and a separate one of her finger. I then put them together in Photoshop.
WWW: The light is coming from the same direction in both of the photos.
EBI: It would have looked more realistic if I had put a shadow in the photo

3rd photo

EBI: It would have looked better if Holly's hand looked as if it was in between the fingers.
